Facebook ...
According to Wikipedia there are more than 175 million active users of the social networking website and I estimate that at least 500 of those users attended St Marks Primary and / or High School - where are the rest?
I have searched in vain for some of my former classmates (class of '75) and the difficulties that I come across is most of the girls adopt their partner's surname when they marry and searching for a name often brings up hundreds of people with the same name.
Facebook has also taken up quite a bit of my limited spare time and I could easily blame that as a distraction from developing this website further. Having said that on the plus side we are still at the stage of collecting names of fellow Marcians so that as many of you as possible get advised of the arrangements for the 2010 Reunion.
There are several St Marks groups on the website and it doesn't matter if you link with one or more - all of them will post information as it becomes available.
Database
You can also add your details to our database which will be used to send out confirmed information on the reunion arrangements. To add your details - click here
We would like to send out e-news on a regular basis but can only do so if we have news to send out - we need to get this from you so let us know of any newsy items.
Reunion Plans
Nothing concrete to report here except that it will take place in 2010!!!
UK Committee Meeting
Our UK committee hopes to hold a meeting in May this year.
If you would like to attend let us know.
Waterford Kamhlaba
Waterford is planning a reunion in June 2010. It would have been great to meet up with them and have a few challenges eg soccer, cricket, chess.
Another thought is that quite a few Waterford students attended St Marks Primary and not St Marks High. If you attended both schools but can only attend one reunion due to timings and finances let us know so that we can pass that information over to the Swaziland Alumni branch.
Charity Funds
We've passed the £4000 mark and still over a year to go. A big thanks to all who have donated so far.
In closing, please do register on the database - form on the E-News page.
